October 24, 2016

Commitment to challenging the status quo contributes to industry recognition

Buffalo, NY, October 24, 2016Liazon, operator of the industry-leading private benefits exchange for business, was recently recognized as a Best Place to Work in New York City and Best Place to Work in Insurance, by Crain’s New York Business and Business Insurance, respectively. Liazon’s commitment to challenging the status quo, as reflected through its company culture and services has, once again, led to this noteworthy recognition.

“At Liazon, we are continuously working to attract and retain the best employees the benefits space and New York have to offer,” said Alan Cohen, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Liazon. “Our clients consistently rate our exchanges high on employee engagement and satisfaction, and it’s gratifying to know our own employees are equally enamored with all that Liazon has to offer.”

Crain’s, along with independent research firm Best Companies Group, recognized Liazon as one of the “Best Places to Work in New York City” for the third year in a row. This awards program identifies, recognizes, and honors the best employers in New York City who are contributing to the city’s economy and workforce. Companies are evaluated based on the results of a survey on workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, demographics, and employee experiences.

For the fourth time, Business Insurance, along with Best Companies Group, recognized Liazon as a “Best Place to Work in Insurance.” The annual feature lists the agents, brokers, insurance companies, and other providers with the highest levels of employee engagement and satisfaction. The leading employers in the insurance industry are identified through an assessment of company policies, practices, demographics, employee engagement, and employee satisfaction.

“Being named on Business Insurance’s list of the Best Places to Work in Insurance for 2016 demonstrates that Liazon has built a culture in which employees are supported and engaged, which in turn benefits their customers,” says Business Insurance publisher Peter Oxner.

Liazon, headquartered in Buffalo with an office in New York City, offers employees various perks such as social events and celebrations, office foosball challenges, a sponsored snack commissary, and a fun and inclusive working environment. Employees are encouraged to share their work experience with family and friends through unique events like “Bring Your Parents to Work Day.” Additionally, Liazon’s Cultural Diversity and Community Outreach Committee is dedicated to finding opportunities in the community and providing fundraising opportunities to further enrich and inspire its employees. Most recently, Liazon participated in Global Accessibility Awareness Day, raising awareness about digital accessibility for people with disabilities. On top of the various social and professional development events offered at Liazon, employees get to select their own portfolio of benefits from Liazon’s award-winning Bright Choices® Exchange, with products ranging from pet insurance and telemedicine, to PTO buy-up and identity theft protection.
