How Are We Doing? New Employer/Employee Survey From Liazon Just Released!
As head of Product & Marketing for Liazon, my job is to develop and promote our award-winning Bright Choices® Exchange. But I can’t do that effectively without hearing from our more than 800 employer users, and their employees, as to what they like about Bright Choices and where we could stand to improve.
So, with all the attention being paid to whether companies should or shouldn’t adopt a private exchange platform for employee benefits, we thought we’d turn our attention to attitudes towards private exchanges – for those already enrolled through us.
For the second year in a row, Liazon has surveyed employers and employees using a Liazon-powered exchange to better understand their experience. This year, we saw some interesting results when it comes to the multi-year exchange experience. Not surprisingly, our research indicates that with each year using a Liazon-powered exchange, both employers and employees derive greater value from the experience. Employers achieve greater cost control every year and enjoy more streamlined benefits administration. Employees have reported a significantly better understanding of their medical and ancillary benefits, as well as an increased understanding of their health care costs and even engagement in their health care decisions. I’m not surprised, because Bright Choices is designed to support them in their decision-making and provide tools and resources for education along the way. It’s nice to know our efforts are working.
There were also many other interesting findings from the employers and employees we surveyed who are using a Liazon-powered exchange:
• Only 2% of employees reported that they preferred letting their employer choose their benefits for them
• 90% of employees were satisfied with the number of choices available on the exchange, or wanted even more
• 79% of employees expressed satisfaction for the shopping and enrollment experience overall
Employers reported satisfaction with their experience as well, with 83% of employers saying that Liazon has helped them control benefits costs.
Each year we work to optimize the experience for both employees and employers, and we trust that years to come will yield even greater engagement and understanding.
